Comment: Although it seems to be yet another of Barrett's charming and childlike ditties, 'Bike' has a deeper significance. First, there is the very adult plea to Barrett's girl, then the coda, a manic representation of a "room full of musical tunes", reached by footsteps like those later used to startling effect on the band's quadrophonic PA, the winding of clockwork mechanisms and finally the hautingly oppressive chattering voices.
