Comment: Another brick in Pink's wall was an educational system that surpressed creativity and independant thought. This song is not a condemnation of education , but of a system of education in which children are treated as faceless individuals who are processed in a fixed manner regardless of their individual interests.

Comment: In the tape loop at the conclusion of the song , the bike shed refers to a place in the school yard where one could sneak a smoke or drink etc.

Comment: Banned in South Africa on May 6,1980 due to black school children using the song to protest against educational apartheid in Soweto. The Apartheid government prohibited the sale and broadcast of the single and album , and ordered all copies confiscated.
